South Florida Area PCC Classic Golf Tournament 2023 / Good News Story
The Postal Customer Council's (PCC) of Broward County, Miami Dade, and the West Palm Beach & Treasure Coast and mission is to foster a close working relationship between the U.S. Postal Service, Business Community, and Commercial Mailers. The South Florida Postal Customer Councils and the Tamarac North Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce co-hosted the Puro Clean Classic Golf Tournament at the Woodmont Country Club, Tamarac Florida.
It was a great day to be on the golf course with sunny skies and a slight breeze. This was a friendly competition among the players and lots of fun; all participants were winners and received great give-away gifts. (First from left to right Business Lead Development Specialist, Pat O Brady, Customer Relations Support, Gener Talicol, and Customer Relations Coordinator (CRC), Edwin J Vivas for the Postal Customer Council of Broward County).
Breast Cancer Awareness / Stamp Dedication 2023 / Cleveland Clinic
Edwin Vivas, Customer Relations Coordinator and Postal CO Chair for the Postal Customer Council of Broward County. On October 11, 2023, dedicated a special semi postal stamp to create awareness about Breast Cancer and the much-needed funds to help fight it. The Postal Service — which was built on a foundation of service to the public — has used our stamp program throughout history to pull the nation together around important health issues like Breast Cancer Awareness. In 1998; we issued a Breast Cancer awareness stamp, these stamps are semi postal, which means the price covers the First-Class single-piece postage rate at the time of purchase — plus an amount to fund the designated cause.
From left not right Dr. Conor Delaney, President of the Florida Market with Cleveland Clinic, Edwin Vivas, Customer Relations Coordinator and Postal CO Chair for the Postal Customer Council of Broward County, Dr. Zeina Nahleh, Regional Chair for Hematology-Oncology and Director of the Maroone Cancer Center with Cleveland Clinic.
During this event, Cleveland Clinic provided Educational Health Talks, such as what can reduce the risk for breast cancer, when should someone have their first mammogram, and helpful tips to improve your well-being.
Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Biz West Perks Members attended the event, to support this great cause.
The Postal Customer Council's (PCC) of Miami Dade, the West Palm Beach & Treasure Coast and Broward County mission is to foster a close working relationship between the U.S. Postal Service and commercial mailers. The Southern Area’s PCC’s goal is to share information about new and existing Postal Service business products, programs, services, and procedures. Through focused educational programs, the PCC strives to help industry members and their organizations grow and develop professionally.

We Will Never Forget
On the anniversary of 9/11 attacks, We Will Never Forget. Many communities gathered to pay tributes to the heroes and victims of that fateful day while reaffirming the commitment to safety. Fort Lauderdale Airport was a place of remembrance, resilience, and unity. The USPS could not fall short and participated donating our Heroes Stamp featuring the first responders that flew the American flag over ground zero. Thanks to the dedication of individuals in Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO), Customs & Border Protection (CBP) and people of the community. The day began with a solemn gathering at the airport’s 9/11 memorial, a place where the aviation community paid tribute to the heroes and victims of that tragic day. The airport’s honor guard presented the colors, the Dillard Center for the Arts Vocal Program sang the national anthem, uniting the crowd in a shared sense of patriotism. Mark Gale, CEO/Director of the Broward County Aviation Department with a somber tone, addressed the attendees, highlighting the significance of this day for the aviation industry and the broader community. He emphasized the enduring commitment to passenger safety, and how 9/11 had reshaped the way airports operated. Gale also expressed gratitude to the dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to ensure the safety of all travelers. Monica Cepero, Broward County Administrator remember the dreadful day and praised the resilience of the airport staff who face the daily challenges and unwavering dedication. Mayor, Lamar Fisher of Broward County, acknowledged the impact of the attacks on the local community and how it inspired a collective resolve to stand strong against adversity. He stressed the importance of unity and collaboration among agencies to maintain safety and security. Dylan DeFrancisci, Port Director CBP, spoke about the pivotal role Customs and Border Protection in safeguarding the nation’s borders and airports. He emphasized the continuous efforts to enhance security protocols while facilitating legitimate travel and trade. Jason Martin, TSA Federal Security Director, shared insights into the agency’s commitment to ensuring the safety of air travel. He recognized the sacrifices made by TSA officers and their dedication to upholding the highest standards of security. BSO Colonel Nichole Anderson, representing the Broward Sheriff’s Office, addressed the crowd. She discussed the integral role law enforcement

Neighbors 4 Neighbors Carousel of Giving 30th Anniversary Celebration / Stamp Dedication / Good News Story
Customer Relations Coordinator, (CRC) Edwin J Vivas (Left) for the United States Postal Service for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Area as well as the Administrative Staff for the Postal Customer Council for Broward County.
Mr. Vivas was pleased to represent the Postal Service to honor one of our commemorative stamps, during the Neighbors 4 Neighbors Carousel of Giving 30th Anniversary Celebration. Held at the beautiful Carousel Club at Gulfstream Park, Hallandale Beach.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors was originally created in 1992 in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew by WCIX – Channel 6 as a relief effort. The program had such an overwhelming response that Neighbors Helping Neighbors became Neighbors 4 Neighbors, a separate 501c3 nonprofit that continued to be an important resource for all individuals and families facing everyday crises.
Let’s Celebrate! features an array of colorful circles in varying sizes arranged in a random pattern. The letters in the word “celebrate,” cast in a dark green hue, appear inside several bright circles. On this occasion, I presented the Let’s Celebrate Stamp issued in 2020 to Neighbors 4 Neighbors. In attendance were various Business Professionals as well as President & CEO, Katy Meagher, for Neighbors 4 Neighbors. (pictured in the photo-right)

The Postal Service — which was built on a foundation of service to the public — has used our stamp program throughout history to pull the nation together around important health issues like Breast Cancer. In 1998; we issued a Breast Cancer awareness stamp, these stamps are semi postal, which means the price covers the First-Class single-piece postage rate at the time of purchase — plus an amount to fund the designated cause.
